Man Crush Monday!

Well, well, well. Would you look at that. It's Man Crush Monday y'all!

In honor of the very first MCM on YA Fiction Review, my choice will be my favorite male character of all time.

Are you ready for this?

The False Prince (The Ascendance Trilogy, #1) The Runaway King (The Ascendance Trilogy, #2) The Shadow Throne (The Ascendance Trilogy, #3)

This choice is rather unorthodox unless you have read the Ascendance Trilogy. Note, there WILL BE spoilers ahead. If you don't want to know them, I suggest you stop reading now.

The Ascendance Trilogy centers around a young man, Sage, who is actually an orphan in the kingdom of Carthya. One day, Sage, and four other boys, are purchased by a wealth man with one goal in mind: to make one of the four orphans into a stand in for the long lost prince of Carthya. Success will mean riches beyond belief and running the country. Failure will mean certain death.

The main reason that I chose Sage as my first MCM is because HE IS PRINCE JARON! That's the spoiler. But through the whole series Sage/Jaron completely deceives you and makes you believe that he is nothing but an orphan. However, when his true identity is revealed you feel a hint of pride that you never hated Sage as much as you probably should have for all of his arrogance.

He is a truly caring young man who wants  his kingdom to be safe, along with the people that he loves. He is able to turn his enemies into his friends and he is a complete badass. He is great at free-running and fighting with a sword.

Jaron is an all-around fantastic guy.

That is why he is the first ever subject of my Man Crush Monday.
