It's Superbowl Sunday

So today is the Super Bowl (Yay?). Other than being a Washington State native and my home team the Seattle Seahawks is one of the two battling for the title, I have absolutely no interest in the game. I have been wondering for years why it is called Football (American Football) anyways. Since every other country in the world calls Soccer, Football. So I did some research. Turns out that American Football is a divergence of Rugby, not real Football. So why isn't it called American Rugby? And another note, Football kind of makes it seem like you use your feet a lot. Other than running (and they don't even do THAT a whole lot) there are only three times where the ball actually touches their feet. So can we just change American Football to American Rugby? Can we all live with that? No? Oh okay, I'll just go like in England where Football is actually Football. Go Chelsea :)

With that here are some American Football themed books to celebrate The Superbowl with. Pick one up and read all you book worms!

Friday Night Lights: A Town, A Team, And A Deam
by H. G. Bissinger

Paper Lion: Confessions of a Last-String Quarterback
 by George Plimpton
The Blind Side: Evolution of a Game
by Michael Lewis

Instant Replay
The Green Bay Diary of Jerry Kramer
With guidance from Dick Schaap

Anyone of those novels have been praised. Take your pick and enjoy both the book and The Superbowl (that is, if you watch)!

Go Seahawks :)
